One time, I heard a nun speak (she had previously been cloistered for years), and she had mentioned her shock at seeing what is aired on TV these days. Soft porn is literally everywhere. It's horrifying!

It really is! And people have become so desensitized to it.

Hey it’s my favorite topic! But seriously, beautifully said. The ease with which we disregard the beauty and dignity of people and call it “empowering” or “liberating” is absolutely disgusting and sad.

BRILLIANT piece, Madison.

“In our conquests over our bodies—allowing for contraceptives and alienating the act of sex from procreation—we have become like animals. We have lost all means of propriety in the quest for supposed 'sexual freedom' and in doing so lost our humanity." ThIS resonates deeply with me and aligns with my own reflections on modern society's sexual ethics.

INdeed, the pursuit of (so-called) “sexual liberation” has led to an unprecedented culture of promiscuity and sexual immorality, and IN divorcINg sexuality from Spirituality, WE are erodINg our Humanity.

“Casual” sex doesn’t exist.

Casual sex as IN, sex without “strINgs attached”.

It IS with GOOD reason that God commands us to only engage IN sex withIN the covenant of HOLY MATRIMONY.

Scripture reveals to us The Truth that sex IS covenantal (not casual).

What does thIS mean?

A weddINg ceremony IS not wHere the covenant takes place, for vows do not make the covenant. The covenant IS made through sexual UNION. Hence, the consummation of marriage.

Sexual UNION IS considered a covenant-INauguratINg act that alone makes a Man and Woman married (Spiritually).

God INstituted sex as a One-flesh relationship BEtween a Man and a Woman.

And they shall become one flesh. 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀𝗶𝘀 𝟮:𝟮𝟰

THere are ramifications of sex without Purpose (or more specifically … PURITY OF PURPOSE).

Recently a friend came to stay with me for a few WEeks and She IS a big fan of a reality TV show called “Love Island” — a show I had heard of IN passINg, but never watched BEfore. IN that moment the Holy Spirit convicted me to watch an episode with my friend … which I obeyed, despite my resistance and reservation to do so. The revelation I received about the relational state of the World was profound. It remINded me that sometimes God calls us out of our comfort zones to witness the Spiritual war upon our society firsthand.

Despite the fact that approximately 80% of the participants claimed to BE Christian and wore crosses around their necks, they unapologetically engaged IN pre-marital sex, fornication, and carnal pleasures of All kINds. The contrast BEtween their proclaimed Faith and their actions was strikINg and troublINg.

A significant driver BEhINd these perversions IS the pervasive INfluence of pornography. It desensitizes INdividuals to the emotional and Spiritual aspects of INtimacy, reducINg it to a physical transaction devoid of deeper connection, meanINg, significance, and symbolism. ThIS widespread desensitization IS what leads to the BEhaviors WE see on shows like "Too Hot to Handle" and "Love Island," wHere the participants' actions reflect a culture steeped IN the superficial, the sensual and the transient.

You are 100% correct when you say: “It’s pornography under a different name.”

Thank you for havINg and holdINg thIS critical conversation. God Bless you!
